Our most requested video! When we began our YouTube journey, we hopped right into projects, never really introducing ourselves or explaining why or how we moved. We are Katie and Chris and this is our story.

  2. Sure hits home when you talk about waiting till retirement.
At 30 would jump at a challenge. At 40, you gotta be more “strategic”. At 60, you’re waiting for whenever your kids can come and help.

+1 on the RV remodel video(s)

  4. We were so happy to see you back. Thanksso much for the very interesting and informative video. As you can see from all the comments, everyone is thrilled to see you back. have often thought what a pain to have to set up the camera to film things. Do what you can but don’t let it rule uour lives. We’ll be happy with whatever works for you.👏👏👏👏

  5. As far as your videos that you don’t feel fit in with what others expect from your channel: I’ve seen other channels that set up a separate “b roll” link on the front page for those. You may be surprised to find out what viewers find to be interesting. Love the channel. I wish you well. I think my biggest concern is letting little Diablo run around outside where an eagle could pick him off… lol.

  6. Good job! Enjoyed it. Good luck with the hip situation…I am getting a total shoulder replacement here soon, but I am 61 so I guess it’s expected to break down eventually. We live in KY on 165 acres with the only neighbors being deer and turkey and coyotes. Taxes are very reasonable. No building permits here either. So i get it… But we love it and would not have it any other way. Keep up the good work.

  7. Loved this video. I really like you guys, and please don’t hold back on the videos. I literally watch probably 8 channels that do the same thing (feeding regime) everyday, but may talk about different things, or have a little project to do or have planting to do. There’s a couple where I watch them work the sawmills and its so therapeutic. Oh i even watch a mom and son lawn care company where they mow an overgrown lawn once a week (or month) and its just sooo therapeutic and satisfying to see the end results. Like I could probably sit here all day and watch Chris move snow from one side of the property to the other. The sound if the equipment puts me in a trance I think. Plus if you have any stories (that you want to put out there) those would be interesting. Like how Chris originally hurt his hip, what it was like being a correction officer etc.

  9. How do you deal with the darkness. I don’t think I would like that too much. 😊
When we first bought our property in Oregon we built. Big shop. Lived in that for years til the county said we couldn’t. Paying $514.00 a year in taxes. Built a house and now we are paying $3800 a year. That would be a good reason to move to Alaska. 😏

  10. I never thought about having to remove snow from the solar panels in the winter. It makes sense to have them on the ground for you. Here in the south people mostly put them n the roof.
