  1. Although Rumyantsevo Business Park is out in the sticks a bit, it’s not quite as remote as indicated in the video (10km from any homes). It has a metro station only 200 metres away and is located only 2km (not much more than 1 mile) from Yugo Zapadnaya – a huge residential area in the south-west of Moscow – so well over 1 million people live pretty close to this place!

  2. Good video Russell. A lot of conflicting info though, based on the other vids i’ve watched on the current prices/ selection in grocery stores around Russia. It seems like. the stores you alway go into are the largest stores in the wealthy areas that really only the top 5-10% of wage earners in Russia visit. Next time go to a typical neighborhood privately owned grocery store wheee the other 90% of Russians go…then we can actually compare. People here should be able to see both.

  3. I love how in the final shot of the above video – the guy that we had previously seen walk past you, suddenly jumped into the shot just behind you & waved – to grab a bit of free publicity for himself!

That supermarket does have a very good range of most products. Apart from that – I probably would have liked to see you comment on the prices in that particular supermarket & whether they would have been considered “good” prices, compared with other supermarkets in Russia.

It’s one thing for foreigners to compare Russian supermarket prices with what they themselves would normally pay in their home countries – but in other countries, everything is relative to the wages/salaries/incomes of the people in those same countries. So some commentary on whether the prices of basic food items in that supermarket, would have been affordable for the average Russian family/person, would also have been helpful.

  4. There is no doubt, there is not the variety of items in the US as there is in Moscow. Also I noticed the eggs are not refrigerated in the supermarkets.

  6. Russian legislation allows selling medicines only in pharmacies where professionals with diplomas – pharmacists and provisors – are engaged in this, and a provisor’s diploma can be obtained only after 6 years of study at the Faculty of Pharmacy of a medical institute or university. And not at all because there are a lot of pharmacies in Russia. On the contrary, there are many pharmacies because only there you can buy medicines.
