Russell, question for you, which of the following applies to you: Expat, Exiled or Propagandist? Thank you.
There was a massive open air market in Dagenham, East London near the old Ford motor plant, but unfortunately did have not have the to make visit. Covid19 forced the permanent closure of the well known market because many people from across Europe made visit and it’s a shame the owners should reopen it again.
Is most of it from China and whole sale prices?
Being in New Zealand those coats look huge!
I think Russell misunderstood the idea of this market. Main purpose of it is small wholesale. For example, if you own a little Cafe inside Moscow or other town in the Moscow region, you come to Sadovod to pick up your 10 tablecloths, uniform for your 3 waiters or artificial plants to decorate your business or Xmas tree and lights. The same with clothing. I know a girl who rents a shop space in Nicholskaya street (between Kremlin and old KGB building))) and she picks few items made in China that look like brand pieces and resell them for higher price🙈. No well-to-do moscovites would drive so long outside the city for a pair of gloves or a bed linen set. So this “market” idea caters for the city shop owners. Personally I don’t like markets, the quality is poor in most cases and of course all the brands are fake.
and the clothing is good (or anything else ), it’s a free market, that’s what it looks like. if people think it’s trash, you’re wrong.
I was born and raised in USSR , since 1989 when my mother immigrated to United States I was always dressed in brand name clothing. up until 5 years ago I always was skeptical myself living in Belarus and working in Russia in buying these clothes .
but trust me the quality is no less than any world-known brand name. it’s all made either in Turkey or Russia on a highly technological equipment just like world-known brand names and the quality is insane and it’s cheaper than if you would go to buy some Gucci or Versace.
so for the Last 5 years half of my clothes is foreign and half of my clothes is Russian or turkey made sold in Russia. you can’t really tell a difference between original and a knockoff))) like when it’s adidas let’s say)))
Sir, would you mind to ask a few item of the price? Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this is such a huge indoor market in Russia. It’s interesting to see this .
Nice video
Been to many markets in Asia where you can negotiate prices. Unfortunately you can’t do that in Australian markets. Nothing near this size here.
i love places like this you can find everything plus you do cardio by walking miles and miles
Plastic flowers are primarily used to decorate graves in Russia. If you visit any cemetery, you’ll see a plastic flower store there
I think of Russian apartments/flats as being somewhat small with little storage, esp. compared to Western style housing; aside from the necessities, where would extra ‘stuff’ be stored? I’ve seen some apartments that I’m not even sure there’s enough storage for an extra blanket or set of towels.
Sadovod is not a market or a shopping center. It is primarily a showroom for different vendors. The most of stuff is then shipped to other places over Russia.
Merchandise Mart in Chicago.
